Joy Irwin, BS
Joy Irwin is an executive functioning coach who helps middle- and high-schoolers, and their parents, address academic challenges related to ADHD, Autism, and other folks who are neuro-divergent. Meeting with teens and/or their parents weekly or bi-weekly, she focuses on organization and other “executive functioning” issues, creating useful workspace in the home, and related issues. She also helps teens structure their homework time.
Joy has been working with special needs students for 9 years, most recently at Forsyth Country Day School (FCDS). She has benefitted from years of on-the-job training, as well as her own struggles with ADHD, all of which give her a unique perspective for helping others. In order to maintain clear boundaries, Joy does not work with students currently attending FCDS.
When she’s not working, Joy spends time knitting and hanging out with her two elderly cats. She is a native Marylander but has spent her whole adult life in North Carolina.
